Privacy Policy
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE_DATE] Last updated: [LAST_UPDATED]
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how [COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME] (“Azteca”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you use the Azteca website, the Azteca Android app and related services (together, the “Services”).
[COMPANY_LEGAL_NAME] is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Apps you download through Azteca are provided by independent developers, who have their own privacy policies; this policy does not cover how those developers process your data.
2. Data we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Services:
- Account data: email address, display name and password (stored as a secure hash), if you create an account.
- Device and technical data: device model, Android version, language, app version, IP address and identifiers needed to deliver compatible apps and updates.
- Usage data: apps you search for, view, install, update or uninstall through Azteca, and interactions with the Services.
- Crash and diagnostic data: crash logs and performance data that help us fix problems.
- Purchase data: if you buy paid apps or in-app items, a transaction record (item, amount, date). Card details are processed by our payment providers and are never stored by us.
- Advertising identifiers: if the Services show ads, the Android Advertising ID, subject to your device settings and consent where required.
- Communications: messages you send us, including through our contact form, and our replies.
- Reviews and reports: ratings, reviews and abuse reports you submit.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive data (such as health, biometric or precise location data) through the Services.
3. How we use your data
- To provide the Services: deliver apps and updates, manage your account and library, and process purchases and refunds.
- To keep the Services safe: scan apps for malware, detect fraud and abuse, and enforce our policies.
- To support you: answer questions and handle requests.
- To improve the Services: understand usage, fix bugs and develop features, using aggregated data wherever possible.
- To show and measure ads, where applicable and with consent where required.
- To comply with legal obligations, such as tax, accounting and law enforcement requests.
4. Legal bases (EEA, UK and similar laws)
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on: performance of a contract (to provide the Services you request); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the Services), balanced against your rights; consent (non-essential cookies, personalised ads, marketing emails), which you can withdraw at any time; and legal obligation.
5. How we share data
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, such as hosting, analytics, crash reporting, email and customer support tools.
- Payment processors to complete purchases and refunds.
- Advertising partners, if ads are shown, under their own policies and subject to your consent where required.
- App developers: limited data needed for a purchase or support request you make for their app (for example an order ID).
- Authorities when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of users, Azteca or others.
- A successor in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, with notice to you.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses essential cookies and, with your consent, analytics cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details and how to change your choices.
7. Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Account data is deleted within 30 days after you delete your account. Technical logs are kept for up to 90 days. Purchase records are kept as long as tax and accounting laws require. See Account & Data Deletion.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls and regular security reviews. No system is completely secure; if we become aware of a breach affecting you, we will notify you and the authorities as required by law.
9. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries other than yours. When data is transferred from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
To exercise your rights, email nancybergvd@gmail.com. We will respond within the time required by law (usually 30 days) and may need to verify your identity.
11. Children’s privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact nancybergvd@gmail.com and we will delete it. See also our Child Safety Standards.
12. Third-party apps and links
Apps available on Azteca and websites we link to are operated by third parties. Read each developer’s privacy policy, which is linked from the app’s page, before installing an app.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page with a new “Last updated” date and, for significant changes, notify you in the app or by email.
